Styling tips for your home {the bedroom}

i am just about to head off to style guest rooms for a major national hotel chain all week, so the "bedroom" is on my mind. i thought i would hand out a little styling advice for the most restful room in the house.

i've told you how to style a coffee table, how to trick out your pantry, what to do with framed art how to style up your kitchen and your foyer.

but i have very specific ideas about the bedroom. i regularly style them for shelter magazines and hotel chains.
i was recently asked to design a bedroom a large bedroom suite for a professional couple. the initial idea behind the design was how i always begin. think about how you live and how you like to rest.

a.) the bedroom needs to be peaceful and comfortable. it needs to be an experience. buying a great bed is the key ingredient.
b.) select a restful, neutral, crisp or dark and sexy color theme. i like a sexy or neutral color palette.
c.) invest in good sheets, and very good pillows.
d.) arrange your bedroom, so that the bed does not face the door, considered very bad feng shui

here are a few examples of bedrooms that work and why:
