my father was a master painter, he loved the dutch masters. i spent a lot of time looking though books on dutch paintings in his studio when i was a little kid. the amazing light, the use of contrast, the deep backgrounds, and rich colors were a big influence on how i looked at the world through fine art starting at an early age.
to this day i can't help but smile when i look at these paintings and running across this blog made me remember how much i love them. i think that these luscious flower images have everything to do with how i create arrangements for photo shoots to this day. for me these flower arrangements are an exquisite visual gift, and continuous inspiration.
